Usatzes Point is an outer-exposed rocky drop-off off Tofino, British Columbia, where the bottom falls through 260 to 660 feet of water. The rock structure holds Lingcod, which peak from May through August, alongside Black Rockfish that concentrate from May into September and Pacific Halibut running strongest from March through June. Anglers work the drop-off with metal jigs and soft plastic swimbaits for Lingcod and rockfish, while halibut respond to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastics or bait fished on the bottom. Chinook Salmon move through from May to August and Coho from June into October, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, and trolling spoons along the exposed edge. The depth range here rewards jigging tight to the rock for resident groundfish and trolling the open water above the structure for passing salmon.
