About George Fraser Islands

The George Fraser Islands sit off Ucluelet, British Columbia, a rocky drop-off with mid-range exposure where the bottom falls away from roughly 330 to 1,310 feet. Chinook Salmon run strongest from May through August and Coho Salmon from May into September, with both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, and spoons over the structure. Lingcod hold on the rock and peak March through May, responding to metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs worked close to the bottom. Pacific Halibut move through the deeper edges from April to August, where drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastics or metal jigs reaches the fish. Canary and Yellowmouth Rockfish, Pacific Cod, and Spiny Dogfish round out the mix over the same broken rock.
