Humphries Reef is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle off Ucluelet, British Columbia, rising through waters that run 25 to 115 feet deep. The structure holds resident rockfish year-round, with Quillback and Copper Rockfish available January through December alongside China and Canary Rockfish, all reachable by jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs, or soft plastic swimbaits over the rock. Lingcod concentrate on the pinnacle from March through May and respond to jigged swimbaits and leadheads or bait fished with whole herring and squid. Pacific Halibut move through from April to August and can be worked with drift jigging using leadhead jigs and salmon belly, while Chinook Salmon peak May through August and Coho run May through September, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, and spoons. The exposed outer position and hard rock bottom make this a productive stop for anglers targeting bottom structure and passing salmon in the same trip.
