Ucluelet Harbour Mouth at Amphitrite Point is an outer-exposed rock corridor where tidal current funnels past the point over depths of 40 to 120 feet. Lingcod hold on the rock here through the late-winter and late-summer peaks of February to April and July to September, while Pacific Halibut move across the deeper stretches from March to August. Chinook and Coho Salmon push through the corridor from May onward, with Chinook peaking May to August and Coho running May to September alongside a strong Rockfish showing over the same period. The broken rock and current favor jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and swimbaits for Lingcod and Rockfish, while drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastics works the deeper water for Halibut. Salmon respond to trolling anchovy, herring, flashers, and hootchies through the moving water at the mouth.
