Hornby Rock is an exposed offshore pinnacle rising from rocky bottom off Ucluelet, British Columbia, with depths running from 100 to 285 feet. Chinook Salmon hold here through their May to August peak alongside Coho Salmon from May to September, while Pacific Halibut work the deeper structure from April to August and Lingcod concentrate over the rock from March to May. Trolling anchovy, herring, and spoons covers the salmon along the pinnacle edges, and mooching cut-plug herring works the same water when fish sit deeper. For halibut, drift jigging leadhead jigs with soft plastics or metal jigs matches the depth and current over the broken bottom. Lingcod respond to metal jigs and swimbaits dropped tight to the rock, with the exposed pinnacle also holding Canary Rockfish and Pacific Cod.
