The Hump 0.5 km N of Hornby Rock is an outer-exposed rocky pinnacle off Ucluelet, British Columbia, rising through waters that run from roughly 100 to 285 feet deep. The structure holds Chinook Salmon at their peak from May through August and Coho Salmon from May into September, with both species most reliably taken by trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, or trolling spoons across the pinnacle. Lingcod hold to the rock and peak from March through May, where jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs works the hard bottom directly. Pacific Halibut move through from April to August and respond to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastics or metal jigs worked along the deeper edges. The rockpile also supports Pacific Cod, Sablefish, and rockfish including Darkblotched and Rougheye in the lower depths.
