Hump 1.4 km NW of Janit Reef is a rocky pinnacle in the outer exposed waters off Ucluelet, British Columbia, rising through depths of 160 to 230 feet. The structure holds lingcod, which peak from March through May and respond to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs, along with bait fishing using whole herring, squid, or octopus. Pacific halibut work the surrounding bottom from April through August, taken by drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastics, metal jigs, or salmon belly. Chinook salmon move through from May through August and Coho from May through September, both targeted by trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, or trolling spoons over the pinnacle. Copper rockfish hold on the rock year-round and take metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and soft plastic swimbaits worked close to the structure.
