Secret Cove is an inner-protected bay on the Sunshine Coast side of Vancouver waters within DFO subarea 16-2, holding mixed bottom structure across depths of 15 to 90 feet. Chinook salmon move through from June to August, followed by coho from June into September, while rockfish hold on the structure year-round. Downrigger trolling with anchovy in teaser heads, hootchies, or trolling spoons behind flashers covers the salmon window, and bucktail flies worked near the surface pick up coho holding higher in the column. Anglers targeting rockfish drop leadhead jigs with soft plastics or metal jigs onto the mixed bottom, adjusting depth as the tide shifts inside the protected water. The sheltered exposure keeps the cove fishable when outer waters push up, making it a consistent option across the season.
