Distances are in a straight line, not by water.

The Gull Rocks Hump is an outer-exposed rocky pinnacle off Bodega Bay, rising through water that runs 50 to 85 feet deep. The structure holds a strong groundfish population, with lingcod peaking from July through February and aggregate rockfish—including black, copper, canary, and vermilion—running strong from May through October. Anglers work the pinnacle for lingcod with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, or drop live rockfish and squid tight to the rock, while rockfish come to squid, shrimp flies, and cut bait fished near the bottom. The surrounding water also draws Chinook and coho salmon from spring into fall, best targeted by trolling anchovies, spoons, hoochies, and flashers above the structure. California halibut show up from April through August and respond to drifted live anchovies and shiner perch over the sand edges bordering the rock.
