Blank Rock Hump is a rocky pinnacle in the outer exposed waters off Eureka, California, rising from depths of 330 to 1310 feet. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak from January through April and again in September, alongside aggregate Rockfish that concentrate from May through September. Chinook and Coho Salmon move through the area during the warmer months, with Chinook peaking May through September and Coho running May into November, while Pacific Halibut hold from March through August and Cabezon stay tight to the rock from February and April through June. Anglers working the pinnacle rely on jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and shrimp flies for Lingcod, Rockfish, and Cabezon over the hard bottom, and drift live baitfish, herring, or squid across the structure for Halibut. Salmon are taken by trolling anchovies, herring, spoons, and hoochies through the exposed water above the pinnacle.
