Lucas Point Hump is a rocky pinnacle set in outer, exposed water off Monterey, rising through depths of 80 to 180 feet. The structure draws Chinook Salmon, which peak from March through July, alongside Copper Rockfish that hold best from July through September and Lingcod that turn on across several windows spanning November through January, March through May, and September through October. California Halibut work the area from March through September, with the pinnacle also holding Canary Rockfish, Coho Salmon, Bonito, and Blue Shark. Anglers troll anchovies, spoons, hoochies, and flashers for Chinook or switch to mooching anchovies and sardines over the same ground. Copper Rockfish and Lingcod come to bait fishing with squid and shrimp flies and to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs worked tight to the rock.
