About Pescadero Rocks
Pescadero Rocks is an outer-exposed rocky drop-off off Monterey, California, where depths run from the surface down to about 55 feet over hard bottom. The site holds Chinook Salmon through their spring and early summer peak from March to July, alongside Lingcod that show best from November to January, March to May, and September to October. Copper Rockfish move onto the structure through their July to September window, with Canary Rockfish, California Sheephead, California Scorpionfish, Pacific Halibut, Coho Salmon, and Bonito rounding out the catch. Anglers target Chinook by trolling anchovies, spoons, hoochies, and flashers, or by mooching anchovies and sardines over the deeper edges. For Lingcod, jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs works the rocky slope, while Copper Rockfish take squid, shrimp flies, and sardines fished close to the bottom.
