Fort Point Rock is an outer-exposed rocky drop-off off San Francisco, where the bottom falls through 30 to 130 feet along structure that concentrates both pelagic and groundfish. Chinook Salmon move through from April to September, with Blue Rockfish and California Halibut sharing that same spring-to-summer window, while Lingcod hold across a broader stretch peaking in February through March, again in August through October, and once more in December. Black Rockfish fill in from May to August, and the rock also holds California Sheephead, White Seabass, Coho Salmon, and Leopard Shark. Anglers troll whole anchovy, spoons, and hoochies for Chinook over the deeper edges, then work the rock itself with metal jigs and swimbaits for Lingcod and rockfish. California Halibut come to drift fishing with live anchovies and live shiner perch across the base of the drop-off.
