Hump 1.6 km NE of Rincon Point is a rock pinnacle rising from inner, protected water off San Francisco, holding fish across a depth range of 75 to 100 feet. The structure concentrates rockfish year-round, with Bocaccio, Canary, and Copper Rockfish sharing the reef alongside California Scorpionfish. Lingcod peak here in February and March, again from August through October, and once more in December, and they respond to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, with live sanddabs, live anchovies, or squid working as a supporting approach over the rock. Chinook Salmon move through from April to September, taken by trolling whole anchovy, spoons, hoochies, and flashers, or by mooching whole anchovy and sardine. Coho Salmon also pass through the area, adding to the seasonal mix over this compact piece of hard bottom.
