About Bella Vista Bay
Bella Vista Bay is an inner, protected bay in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with a mixed bottom and depths running from 5 to 25 feet. Common Snook peak from May through July and respond best to live bait drifting with live shrimp, live pilchards, live mullet, or live pinfish, while casting swimbaits, topwater plugs, and jerkbaits works as a supporting approach. Gray Snapper peak in June and July and Mutton Snapper from March through June, and anglers target both with bottom fishing over the mixed bottom using live shrimp, live pilchards, cut bait, or squid. Yellowtail Snapper peak from April through July and come to chumming and drift fishing with glass minnows, cut ballyhoo, or squid strips. King Mackerel peak from January through March and draw slow trolling with live pilchards or live blue runners, and Crevalle Jack round out the bay's species mix.
