About Entrance Channel

The Entrance Channel near Jupiter, Florida, is an outer, exposed sand-bottom corridor running 15 to 35 feet deep along the Southeast Atlantic coast. Common Snook and Gray Snapper peak here from May through July, Yellowtail Snapper from May through August, and Mutton Snapper from April through June, while King Mackerel run strongest in March and April and again in October and November, with Crevalle Jack also working the channel. Snook respond to live bait drifting with live pilchards, live mullet, or live pinfish through the corridor, and bottom fishing with live shrimp, squid, or cut bait over the sand targets both gray and mutton snapper. Yellowtail rise behind a chum slick to flatlined cut ballyhoo or silversides, and slow trolling live goggle eyes or live blue runners covers the channel for king mackerel during their spring and fall windows.
