About Thozina Reef
Thozina Reef is an artificial reef in Florida's Atlantic state waters off Jupiter, part of the Southeast Region's network of man-made structure. Common Snook and Gray Snapper peak here from May through July, while Yellowtail Snapper hold strongest from May into August and Mutton Snapper peak from April through June. King Mackerel move through in two windows, March–April and October–November, and Crevalle Jack round out the mix around the structure. Anglers work the reef by chumming and flatlining cut ballyhoo or glass minnows to pull Yellowtail Snapper up off the structure, and by bottom fishing live shrimp, live pilchards, or squid for Gray and Mutton Snapper. During the King Mackerel runs, slow trolling live goggle eyes or blue runners along the edges of the reef targets fish that patrol the bait gathered over the structure.
