About Entrance Channel Hump
Entrance Channel Hump is an exposed rock pinnacle off Jupiter, Florida, rising from surrounding bottom in 45 to 85 feet of water within the Southeast Region of Florida's Atlantic state waters. The hard relief holds Mutton Snapper from April through June, while Yellowtail Snapper, Gray Snapper, and Common Snook peak through late spring and summer, with yellowtail action extending into August. King Mackerel move across the hump in two windows, March through April and again October through November, and Crevalle Jack roam the structure alongside them. Bottom fishing with live pilchards, cut ballyhoo, or squid works the rock for mutton and gray snapper, and chumming and flatlining cut ballyhoo or silversides draws yellowtail up off the pinnacle. Slow trolling live goggle eyes or blue runners along the edges of the hump targets kingfish, and live bait drifting with pilchards or mullet produces snook during the summer peak.
