About Flagler Bridge Material Reef
Flagler Bridge Material Reef is an artificial reef in Florida's Southeast Atlantic state waters off Jupiter, where deployed bridge material forms hard structure that holds both reef fish and pelagic predators. King Mackerel move through in two windows, March through April and October through November, and anglers slow troll live goggle eyes, live blue runners, or live pilchards along the edges of the structure. The snapper bite builds from spring into summer, with Mutton Snapper peaking April through June, Gray Snapper May through July, and Yellowtail Snapper May through August. Bottom fishing with live pilchards, squid, or cut bait works the reef itself for Mutton and Gray Snapper, while chumming and flatlining cut ballyhoo or glass minnows draws Yellowtail Snapper up off the structure. Common Snook also peak May through July and take live pilchards or live mullet on a drift, and Crevalle Jack round out the mix around the reef.
