About Jupiter Inlet Reef
Jupiter Inlet Reef is an artificial reef off Jupiter, Florida, set in the Southeast Region of Florida's Atlantic state waters near the mouth of Jupiter Inlet. The structure holds a mix of snapper and pelagic species, with Gray Snapper peaking May through July, Mutton Snapper April through June, and Yellowtail Snapper May through August. Common Snook also peak May through July, while King Mackerel run strongest in March–April and again in October–November, and Crevalle Jack round out the mix. Bottom fishing with live pilchards, cut ballyhoo, or squid works the reef for Mutton and Gray Snapper, and chumming and flatlining with cut ballyhoo or silversides draws Yellowtail Snapper up off the structure. For King Mackerel, slow trolling live goggle eyes or blue runners along the reef edges covers the water where bait concentrates.
