About Miss Jenny Reef

Miss Jenny Reef is an artificial reef in federal Atlantic waters off Jupiter, Florida, where placed structure holds both bottom species and passing pelagic predators. Mutton Snapper peak from April through June, and Greater Amberjack and Black Grouper also hold on the reef. King Mackerel run strongest in March–April and again in October–November, Wahoo peak in April and from September through December, and Dorado move through from March to June. Bottom fishing with live pilchards, cut ballyhoo, or squid is the dominant approach for mutton snapper, and vertical jigs and bucktail jigs also work the structure. Kings respond to slow-trolled live goggle eyes and blue runners over the reef, wahoo take bullet-head trolling lures and diving plugs at high speed, and dorado hit trolled rigged ballyhoo and feathers.
