About Lake Worth Inlet
Lake Worth Inlet is an exposed sand-bottom corridor on Florida's southeast Atlantic coast near Jupiter, where water between 15 and 35 feet deep funnels fish between the open ocean and inshore waters. Common Snook peak from May through July and hold along the corridor, where anglers drift live pilchards, live mullet, live pinfish and live shrimp and work bucktail jigs or soft plastic swimbaits through the moving water. Yellowtail Snapper peak from May through August and respond to chumming and flatlining with cut ballyhoo, silversides and glass minnows. Mutton Snapper peak from April through June and Gray Snapper from May through July, and both take bottom-fished live pilchards, squid, cut bait and live shrimp over the sand. King Mackerel arrive in two waves, March through April and October through November, when slow trolling live goggle eyes, blue runners and threadfin herring draws strikes alongside roaming Crevalle Jack.
