About Lake Worth Inlet Hump
Lake Worth Inlet Hump is a rock pinnacle rising from 60 to 120 feet of water off Jupiter, Florida, fully exposed to the open Atlantic in the Southeast Region of Florida's state waters. Mutton Snapper peak from April through June, while Yellowtail Snapper run strongest from May through August, and Gray Snapper and Common Snook both peak from May through July. King Mackerel move across the hump in two windows, March through April and October through November, and Crevalle Jack roam the structure alongside them. Anglers anchor up-current of the rock and work chumming and flatlining with cut ballyhoo or glass minnows for yellowtail, then drop live pilchards or squid for muttons and gray snapper holding tight to the pinnacle. Slow trolling live goggle eyes or blue runners along the edges of the hump targets kingfish during their spring and fall runs.
