About Munyon Island Hump
Munyon Island Hump is an exposed rock pinnacle off Jupiter, Florida, rising from the outer shelf to hold fish in 75 to 85 feet of water. Yellowtail Snapper peak here from May through August, Mutton Snapper from April through June, and Gray Snapper and Common Snook from May through July, while King Mackerel move across the hump in March–April and again in October–November alongside roaming Crevalle Jack. Anglers anchor up-current and work chumming and flatlining with cut ballyhoo, silversides, and glass minnows to pull Yellowtail Snapper off the rock. Bottom fishing with live pilchards, squid, and cut bait targets Mutton and Gray Snapper tight to the pinnacle. Kings respond to slow trolling with live goggle eyes, blue runners, and threadfin herring along the edges of the structure.
