About Pep Reef
Pep Reef is an artificial reef off Jupiter, Florida, within the Southeast Region of Florida's Atlantic state waters. The structure holds Yellowtail Snapper, which peak from May through August, along with Gray Snapper and Common Snook, which both peak from May through July, and Mutton Snapper, which peak from April through June. King Mackerel move through in two windows, March through April and October through November, while Crevalle Jack round out the species mix. Over the reef, anglers chum and flatline cut ballyhoo, silversides, or glass minnows for yellowtail, and bottom fish live pilchards, squid, and cut bait for gray and mutton snapper. Slow trolling live goggle eyes, blue runners, or threadfin herring along the reef edges targets kingfish during their spring and fall runs.
