About Sherman Point
Sherman Point is an exposed, sand-bottom drop-off off Jupiter, Florida, where the seafloor falls from 15 to 60 feet within the Southeast Region of Florida's Atlantic state waters. Common Snook and Gray Snapper peak here from May through July, Yellowtail Snapper from May through August, and Mutton Snapper from April through June. King Mackerel run strongest in March and April and again in October and November, and Crevalle Jack also work the area. Snook respond to live bait drifting with live pilchards, live mullet, or live shrimp along the edge of the drop, while Yellowtail Snapper rise to chumming and flatlining with cut ballyhoo or glass minnows. Mutton and Gray Snapper hold along the sand slope for bottom fishing with live pilchards, squid, or cut bait, and slow trolling live goggle eyes or live blue runners over the deeper water targets King Mackerel during their spring and fall windows.
