About Singer Island
Singer Island is an exposed sand-bottom drop-off on Florida's southeast Atlantic coast, where the bottom falls from 15 to 60 feet and draws both inshore and nearshore predators. Common Snook peak from May through July, while Yellowtail Snapper hold strong from May through August and Gray Snapper run May through July. Mutton Snapper peak from April through June, King Mackerel move through in March–April and again in October–November, and Crevalle Jack patrol the edge throughout the season. Along the deeper sand, bottom fishing with live pilchards, cut ballyhoo, or squid targets Mutton Snapper and Gray Snapper, and chumming and flatlining with silversides or glass minnows pulls Yellowtail Snapper up off the drop. Slow trolling live goggle eyes or blue runners along the outer edge connects with King Mackerel, and live bait drifting with pilchards or mullet works the shallower contours for Common Snook.
