About Haulover Modules Reef

Haulover Modules Reef is an artificial reef off Miami, Florida, within the Southeast Region of Florida's Atlantic state waters. Yellowtail Snapper, Gray Snapper, and Common Snook peak here from May through July, Mutton Snapper run strongest from April through June, and Crevalle Jack round out the species mix around the structure. King Mackerel take over the cooler months, peaking from November through March, and anglers target them by slow trolling live goggle eyes, live blue runners, or live pilchards along the reef. Over the modules, chumming with frozen chum blocks and glass minnows pulls Yellowtail Snapper up into the slick, while bottom fishing with live shrimp, live pilchards, or cut bait works the structure for Gray and Mutton Snapper. Snook respond to live bait drifting with live pilchards, live shrimp, or live mullet during the summer peak.
