Lydia Shoal is a mid-exposure sand flat off Anacortes, Washington, in DFO subarea 7, holding depths between 40 and 80 feet. The flat supports a mix of flatfish and bottomfish alongside seasonal salmon runs, with Pacific Halibut peaking March through July and Lingcod concentrated in February and March. Chinook Salmon move through from June to August, followed by Coho Salmon that hold from June into October. Halibut respond to drift fishing across the sand with herring, salmon bellies, squid, or octopus, while jigging metal jigs and swimbaits over the bottom works the Lingcod. Salmon are targeted by trolling cut-plug herring, flashers, and spoons through the water column above the shoal, with mooching whole herring a supporting option as fish stack up over the flat.
