Alden Bank is a submerged bank in DFO subarea 7 off Bellingham, Washington, with fishable depths running from 40 to 150 feet over structure that holds bottomfish and passing salmon. Rockfish aggregate over the bank from March through September, Pacific halibut hold from April through August, and lingcod peak in the late fall and again from March into June. Chinook salmon move through from June to September and coho from June into October, feeding along the same water that draws anglers to the bank's edges. Rockfish and lingcod respond to jigging with metal jigs and leadhead jigs paired with swimbaits worked near the bottom, while halibut come to herring, squid, or octopus drifted across the depth range. Chinook and coho are taken on downrigger trolling and trolling with flashers, hoochies, and spoons, with mooching cut-plug herring an option when fish are shallow.
