Reef Point is a rocky drop-off in DFO subarea 7 off Bellingham, Washington, where the bottom falls through a mid-exposure water column running 260 to 660 feet. The structure holds Chinook Salmon from June through September and Coho Salmon from June into October, with Pacific Halibut moving over the deeper edges from April to August. Chinook here respond to downrigger trolling with whole herring, flashers, and hoochies, while halibut come to drifted herring, squid, and octopus worked along the base of the slope. Lingcod hold on the rock through two peak windows, November to February and March into June, and take metal jigs and leadhead jigs with swimbaits fished tight to the structure. Black Rockfish stack up over the same reef from June to August and hit metal jigs and swimbaits through the mid-depths.
