Tide Point sits along the southern end of Cypress Island in DFO subarea 7 near Bellingham, Washington, a mid-exposure corridor over rocky bottom running from 20 to 120 feet. The rock structure holds lingcod, which peak from November through February and again from March through June, alongside rockfish that come on strongest from March through September. Anglers work the rock with jigging using leadhead jigs with swimbaits, metal jigs, or bucktail jigs for lingcod, cabezon, and rockfish, while live bait drifting with live greenling or herring covers the lingcod when the jig bite slows. Salmon move through the corridor on the tide, with Chinook peaking June through September and coho June through October, taken by downrigger trolling with whole herring, spoons, hoochies, and flashers. Pacific halibut show from April through August and respond to drifting herring, squid, or octopus across the deeper edges of the range.
