I’ve been using ReelCaster for about a month and I love it! Having all the conditions listed together is really handy and makes deciding when to go a no brainer instead of checking multiple apps and sites to get wind, current, sea conditions and tides. I highly recommend ReelCaster!

ReelCaster has completely changed how I plan my fishing trips. It brings together tides, currents, wind, swell, and water temperature in one place, then pinpoints the best times and locations to fish. It saves me time and gives me real confidence I’m on the water when conditions are ideal.

ReelCaster was very helpful in helping me figure out where and when to fish! I was lucky enough to catch a 7 lb Coho right off the beach. The info that the app provided was really helpful and it saved me the trouble of looking at multiple sources to figure out tides, weather, and regulations.

STRUCTURE
Pinnacle
Mid

Skipjack Island is a rocky pinnacle in Bellingham's DFO subarea 7, sitting in mid-exposure water with depths ranging from 10 to 80 feet. The rock structure holds a strong groundfish population, with lingcod peaking from November through February and again March through June, cabezon from October through March, and aggregate rockfish through the spring and summer months from March to September. Jigging works across these species, whether with leadhead jigs and swimbaits, metal jigs, or bucktail jigs over the pinnacle, while live bait drifting with greenling or herring targets lingcod holding tight to structure. Kelp greenling fill in from June through December, and Pacific halibut move through from April to August, best worked by drifting herring, squid, or salmon bellies along the deeper edges. Chinook salmon run June through September and coho from June through October, both taken by trolling flashers, hoochies, and spoons through the water column above the rock.
