Pilot Point sits off Edmonds, Washington, in DFO subarea 9, where a mixed-bottom drop-off within inner protected water falls from about 20 to 120 feet. The structure holds Chinook Salmon peaking June through August and Coho Salmon running June through October, with Pacific Halibut moving through March to June and Lingcod concentrated February through April. Anglers work the salmon along the drop with trolling setups—flashers with hootchies, trolling spoons, and cut-plug herring—while mooching cut-plug or whole herring covers the same water at a slower pace. Over the deeper mixed bottom, drift jigging with leadhead jigs and swimbaits or metal jigs targets halibut, and jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs takes Lingcod and Black Rockfish holding tight to structure. Black Rockfish stay active April through September across the shallower edges of the ledge.
