Kayak Point sits off Everett in Marine Area 8-2, marking a mixed-bottom drop-off with mid-level exposure where depths run from 80 to 200 feet. Chinook Salmon peak here from June through August and Coho Salmon from July through October, both worked by trolling flashers, trolling spoons, or cut-plug herring along the drop, with mooching and metal jigs as supporting options. Pacific Halibut hold on the deeper mixed bottom through the spring and early-summer window of March to July, taken by drift fishing herring, squid, or octopus. Lingcod season centers on February through April, when jigging metal jigs and leadhead jigs with swimbaits over the structure produces, and Black Rockfish stack up from March through August on the same jigging approach. The break in depth across this drop-off concentrates fish along the edge, making the transition from shallower rock to the deeper mixed bottom the zone to fish.
