Hump 1.7 km SE of Sea Lion Rock is an outer-exposed rocky pinnacle off La Push, Washington, rising through depths that run from 330 to 1310 feet. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak from February through April, alongside Pacific Halibut and Chinook Salmon that both peak from April through August, plus resident Canary, Widow, and China Rockfish and Giant Pacific Octopus. Anglers work the rock with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs for Lingcod, or drop live greenling and herring tight to the pinnacle. Halibut come to drift fishing over the deeper edges with whole herring, salmon bellies, octopus, and squid. Chinook are taken by trolling whole herring, flashers, spoons, and hoochies, with mooching cut-plug herring a productive alternative across the exposed water.
