The Hump 0.8 km S of Duncan Rock is a rocky pinnacle off Neah Bay, rising through outer, exposed water where depths run from 55 to 210 feet. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak from March through May, alongside a mix of aggregate Rockfish and Pacific Cod that fish best from January through March. Pacific Halibut move over the surrounding contours from April through July, while Chinook Salmon (April through August) and Coho Salmon (May through September) pass through the water column above. Anglers work the pinnacle for Lingcod by jigging metal jigs and swimbaits, or drop leadhead jigs and swimbaits for Halibut drifting the deeper edges. Chinook and Coho respond to trolling whole herring, spoons, and flashers over the same rock, with mooching cut-plug herring an alternative when the drift sets up.
