Barnacle Rock is a mid-exposure rocky flat in Marine Area 7 off Oak Harbor, Washington, where the bottom runs from 10 to 35 feet. The rock structure holds Lingcod through its February–March peak and Black Rockfish from February into September, while Chinook and Coho Salmon move through the area between June and September. Anglers work the salmon runs by trolling flashers, trolling spoons, hoochies, and cut plug herring, with mooching whole herring or jigging metal jigs as alternatives over the shallower stretches. Lingcod respond to metal jigs and leadhead jigs with swimbaits along the rock, and Black Rockfish take metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and swimbaits worked through the same structure. Pacific Halibut fill the March–June window and Dungeness Crab peak from June through August, with crab pots set over the flat.
