Gordon Point Hump is a rocky pinnacle in DFO subarea 13 off Olympia, Washington, rising through mid-exposure water at depths of 10 to 40 feet. The structure holds bottom species including Lingcod, Rougheye Rockfish, Sablefish, Pacific Halibut, and Pacific Cod, while the surrounding water draws Chinook Salmon on their June through September peak and Coho Salmon from July into October. Anglers targeting Chinook work the area by trolling flashers, cut-plug herring, trolling spoons, and hootchies, with mooching whole or cut-plug herring and jigging metal or leadhead jigs as supporting approaches. Coho respond to trolling flashers with hoochies, trolling spoons, and cut-plug herring, and to mooching herring or jigging metal jigs over the same ground. The rock relief that concentrates baitfish across the 10-to-40-foot range keeps both salmon and resident bottomfish tight to the pinnacle.
