Dungeness Bay Hump is a rocky pinnacle rising from the outer, exposed waters off Port Angeles, Washington, where depths run 175 to 225 feet over hard structure. The pinnacle draws Chinook Salmon at their peak from June through August and Coho Salmon from June through September, alongside Pacific Halibut that hold strongest from March through August. Lingcod concentrate on the rock earlier in the year, peaking January through April, and the site also holds Canary Rockfish, Pacific Cod, and Sablefish. Anglers work the salmon by trolling whole herring, flashers, hootchies, and spoons through the water column, while halibut come to drift fishing with herring, squid, or octopus along the bottom. The elevated rock and surrounding depth make jigging metal jigs a direct approach for Lingcod holding tight to the pinnacle.
