This rocky pinnacle sits offshore of Port Angeles, Washington, rising through mid-exposure water with a working depth of 140 to 170 feet. Pacific halibut hold here through their March to August peak, while lingcod stack on the rock structure from January into April and Chinook and coho salmon move through the surrounding water from June into September. Canary rockfish, rougheye rockfish, and Pacific cod round out the resident bottom species over the same hard bottom. Anglers work the halibut with drift fishing over the pinnacle using herring, salmon bellies, octopus, or squid, and switch to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs to pull lingcod off the rock. Salmon passing above respond to trolling with whole herring, spoons, flashers, and hootchies, with mooching cut-plug herring a reliable alternative on slower tides.
