North Angeles Point Hump is a rocky pinnacle rising from the outer, exposed waters off Port Angeles, with fishable depths running from 90 to 150 feet. The structure draws Chinook Salmon at their peak from June through August and Coho Salmon from June into September, while Pacific Halibut hold over the surrounding bottom from March through August and Lingcod concentrate on the rock from January through April. Trolling whole herring, flashers, and hootchies works the salmon through the water column above the pinnacle, and mooching cut-plug herring covers the same fish when a slower presentation fits the tide. Halibut respond to drift fishing herring, octopus, or squid across the deeper edges, and Lingcod come to metal jigs and swimbaits worked tight to the rock. Canary Rockfish, Copper Rockfish, and Pacific Cod round out the mix over the same structure.
