Observatory Point is an outer-exposed rocky drop-off off Port Angeles, Washington, where the bottom falls away through depths of 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon peak from June through August and Coho Salmon from June through September, both taken by trolling flashers, hootchies, trolling spoons, or whole herring, with mooching cut-plug herring as a supporting approach. The rock structure holds Lingcod, which peak from January through April and respond to jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, while Black Rockfish stack up from May through August over the same terrain. Pacific Halibut work the deeper water from March through August and are targeted by drift fishing herring, salmon bellies, octopus, or squid across the slope. Pacific Cod and Spiny Dogfish round out the catch along this exposed rock edge.
