Lagoon Point is a mixed-bottom drop-off near Port Townsend, Washington, in DFO subarea 9, where the seafloor falls away through depths of 80 to 200 feet. Chinook Salmon move through in numbers from June to August, with Coho Salmon overlapping and holding into September, making the summer window the focus for anglers here. Chinook respond well to mooching cut-plug or whole herring along the drop, while Coho are taken by trolling flashers, hoochies, and trolling spoons over the same water. Earlier in the year, Lingcod peak from March to May and hold tight to the structure, where jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs works the mixed bottom. Pacific Halibut peak from March through July and are reached with drift jigging metal jigs and leadhead jigs with swimbaits across the deeper edges of the slope.
