Nodule Point is a rocky drop-off in DFO subarea 9 off Port Townsend, Washington, where the bottom falls through an outer, exposed depth range of roughly 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon peak from June through August and Coho Salmon from June through September, with Chinook worked by mooching cut-plug or whole herring and Coho by trolling flashers, hoochies, spoons, or cut-plug herring. The rock structure holds Lingcod, which peak from March through May and respond to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs, along with Copper Rockfish through the summer months. Pacific Halibut move over the area from March through July, taken by drift jigging metal jigs, leadhead jigs with swimbaits, or herring across the deeper contours. Cabezon, Pacific Cod, and aggregate rockfish round out the bottom fishery over the same rocky terrain.
