Dalco Passage is a mixed-bottom corridor off Tacoma, Washington, where currents funnel salmon through depths of 40 to 180 feet. Chinook Salmon move through the passage from June to September, with Coho Salmon peaking July through October and Pink Salmon running July into September. Trolling dominates here, with cut-plug herring, flashers, and trolling spoons worked along the corridor for Chinook, while pink hoochies and small trolling spoons behind dodgers take Pink Salmon in the run-heavy summer months. The passage's depth and structure also suit mooching cut-plug or whole herring and jigging metal jigs when fish hold deeper. Tidal flow through this mid-exposure channel concentrates bait and keeps salmon staged along the corridor's mixed bottom.
