Samego Point is a rocky drop-off in DFO subarea 13 off Tacoma, Washington, where the bottom falls from roughly 260 to 660 feet at mid exposure. Chinook Salmon move through from June to September and Coho follow from July into October, with trolling cut-plug herring, flashers, spoons, and hoochies working the drop, and mooching or metal jigs filling the supporting role. Pacific Halibut hold near the deeper structure from March through August, taken on leadhead jigs with plastic swimbaits, herring, or squid drifted along the bottom. Lingcod stack up on the rock from March to June and respond to metal jigs, leadhead jigs with swimbaits, or live greenling and herring. Black Rockfish stay catchable year-round and Cabezon peak across the cooler months into spring, both taking jigs and swimbaits fished tight to the rocky edges.
