This rocky pinnacle sits off Westport in the exposed outer waters, rising through depths of 65 to 85 feet where hard structure concentrates fish. Lingcod hold tight to the rock and peak from February through April, taking metal jigs, leadhead jigs with swimbaits, and bucktail jigs worked over the high points, while live greenling or whole herring also draws them out. Pacific halibut move through from March into July and respond to drift fishing with herring, squid, salmon bellies, or octopus across the bottom. Chinook and coho salmon run June through September, both worked with trolling using whole herring, anchovies, spoons, and hoochies, or mooched with cut-plug herring near the structure. Canary and copper rockfish, along with Pacific cod, round out the mixed bottom fishing over this exposed rock.
