The Hump at 47.08283, -124.25291 is a rocky pinnacle rising in 65 to 85 feet of water off Westport, on Washington's outer exposed coast. The structure holds lingcod, which peak from February through April, alongside a strong aggregate rockfish showing from June through September that includes canary, yellowtail, and copper rockfish. Pacific halibut work the surrounding bottom from March into July, while Chinook and coho salmon move through the area during the summer months of June through September. Anglers target lingcod with metal jigs and leadhead jigs tipped with swimbaits worked over the rock, and drift herring, squid, or octopus along the bottom for halibut. Rockfish respond to metal jigs and shrimp flies fished tight to the pinnacle, and salmon are taken by trolling whole herring, spoons, and hoochies over the exposed structure.
