7 Mile Bank is an outer-exposed sand flat off Bamfield, British Columbia, sitting in 100 to 180 feet of water. The open bottom holds Lingcod, which peak from February through April and again from July through September, alongside Pacific Halibut that run strongest from March through August. Chinook Salmon move through the area from May into August, working the water column above the flat. Anglers target the halibut and lingcod with drift jigging and metal jigs worked along the sandy bottom, while Chinook come to trolled anchovy and herring behind flashers. The flat's uniform depth and exposed setting make it a straightforward drift for bottom species and a productive troll for salmon.
